A Story Steeped in Sound

MBN stands out from the crowd for their unique tastes and undeniable talent. There are few things Jessie enjoys more than setting out on a brand new musical journey.

Often referred to as the “Cheerleader”, Jessie grew up surrounded by Music. Born to a Mother who sang and played piano, but had stage fright, she recalls walking to band practices after school as young as 7 years old. She attempted playing piano, clarinet and alto saxophone, ( after Clarence Clemons), but was not meant to play music herself. She found love in nearly every genre, and spent all her time stalking the shelves of bootleg music for the underground cuts and read every music magazine she could find to get the story behind the story. Since her teens, she hoped one day for a platform to present, and celebrate great music of all genres, primarily the Independent and up and comers.

Having figured out by the age of 15, the world has yet to hear some of the greatest music ever written, she went on a quest to understand why this music wasn’t in the mainstream. The answer always came down to suits and money. Not happy with this, and having a paralegal background, she studied Music Business, took on management duties for several Artists, worked for a booking agency, joined the fight with Congress for Musician’s rights and royalty increases, wrote reviews for a local radio station, and spent every free moment networking, volunteering at industry functions, working with Lightning100 FM101.1 and continuing her education, while learning from the Musicians themselves.

Jessie has a law Master's Degree from the Sandra Day O'Connor School of Law emphasis in Intellectual Property. Undergrad from Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) Major: Music Business Minor: Audio Production. Currently Jessie is working toward her J.D. where she plans to specialize in Entertainment Law.
